The commercial
fishing industry has long been aware that fish are naturally
attracted to other bioluminescent organisms that are plentiful
in the ocean. They currently use glow light sticks attached to
their "long lines" to attract fish to their baited hooks! The
sport fishing industry is just becoming aware of this.

For personal safety, and to quickly spot your companions, hang a 6 inch light stick around your neck. 6 inch glow light sticks can also be used to mark your equipment on shore, so you can easily find it in the dark!
Hunting
Night hunting is a fast growing sport, but illumination is still required for not only seeing your prey but to be visible enough for personal safety.

While most
animals are pretty much colour blind, their night vision is
superior to ours because they have more light sensitive "rod"
cells in their eyes. We can see colours better in the daytime,
but the higher concentration of "cone" cells in our eyes makes
it more difficult for us to see at night. Hence, we must have
some sort of illumination to assist in night hunting, but we
don't want to scare away our
prey!

Glow light sticks are an ideal solution for personal safety! Wearing red light sticks will still enable you to spot your companions, but are the least bright so as not to be too noticeable to your prey. Also, red will not disturb your night vision. Glow light sticks can also be used for marking trails, and green ones will provide much more light when it's time to pack it in and collect your quarry.
